At Dtails, we strive to ensure your experience is pleasant. We will do our utmost to make your pet comfortable and will inform you of any abnormalities observed during grooming.
Personal Belongings
Please note that Dtails is not responsible for any personal belongings.
Entering and Exiting the Salon, Drop-Off, Pick-Up, and Parking
For the safety of all pets, please keep dogs on a leash when entering and exiting the salon. Cats must be transported in a carrier.
**Parking:** In Smithfield, clients are encouraged to park in the back of the building, where there is ample space away from the main road (Route 44).
If you, as the pet owner, are not present to check in your pet, Dtails will use its best judgment on the necessary grooming services. Groomers will proceed with the same grooming routine as in the previous visit unless directed otherwise by the owner before the appointment.
Customer Complaints
If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your dog's grooming experience, please notify us within 48 hours. We are committed to addressinge and resolving your concerns to the best of our ability.
Matt Removal and Skin Condition
The owner acknowledges that if their pet's coat is matted, the requested style may not be achievable. Matted coats and excessive undercoats can cause various health issues. Removal of a heavily matted coat carries risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to underlying skin conditions. Mat removal may also lead to skin irritations, itchiness, or failure of hair to regrow.
The owner understands they may need to apply sunscreen to their shaved pet until hair regrows adequately and that brief behavioral changes could occur. There may be extra charges for additional time spent working with matted fur. The owner will not hold Dtails liable for any cuts or nicks that may occur.
For the pet's safety, if grooming reveals severe matting, Dtails will take all necessary precautions, but issues such as nicks, clipper irritation, or stress may still arise.
Veterinary Care Authorization
In case of an emergency during grooming, I authorize Dtails to seek immediate veterinary treatment for my pet at my expense. I understand that matted pets have a higher chance of injury during grooming, and I will not hold Dtails LLC responsible for accidents or injuries.
Double Coat Shave Down
I understand that shaving my double-coated pet with Dtails comes with certain risks, including:
- No guarantee of coat regrowth.
- Possible need for sunscreen to protect the skin.
- Risk of irritation or rash.
- Shaving does not always cool the pet, as the double coat provides insulation.
- Shaving does not reduce shedding; it merely shortens the coat.
- Clipping may appear uneven based on coat type.
Extra Charges
I agree and give Dtails the right to charge additional fees for services that exceed standard grooming, including for double-coated or matted pets, special handling, clean-up, and tardiness beyond 10 minutes.
For any pets left at Dtails longer than 30 minutes past notification of completion, I accept that a kennel fee will apply. I understand I will be charged $10 for each 5 minutes my pet remains after closing hours.
Flea Control
Dtails maintains a flea-free environment and will administer flea treatment at the first sign of fleas. I agree to permit Dtails to administer such treatment and understand that I will be charged for the product ($5-$20 depending on the pet's size).
Pet Photo Release
I grant Dtails the right to take photographs of my pet and use them for promotional purposes, including in print and online, without compensation.
Health Problems
Dtails requires all pets to be healthy and free from infectious diseases. If my pet has allergies, I will inform Dtails in advance to use appropriate products. I understand Dtails may refuse service or stop grooming if my pet poses a safety risk.
Canine Respiratory Illness
Dtails prioritizes health and safety regarding canine respiratory illnesses. I agree to pick up my pet within 30 minutes of being notified when grooming is complete. If my pet exhibits flu-like symptoms, I will cancel the appointment.
I understand that Dtails implements strict cleaning practices. However, I will not hold Dtails liable if my pet falls ill post-appointment, and Dtails reserves the right to refuse service to pets showing symptoms at my expense.
Vaccinations
To maintain a safe environment, Dtails requires that all pets have current rabies vaccinations, with proof submitted at the appointment. Pets should wait 48 hours post-vaccination before visiting. While DHPP and Bordetella vaccines are not mandatory, they are strongly encouraged.
Dtails reserves the right to refuse service to any pet that poses a health risk.
General Grooming Risks
I acknowledge that there are risks associated with grooming, including stress, skin irritation, or nicks. Grooming may reveal hidden health issues. I agree not to hold Dtails responsible for any injuries resulting from the
Aging and Special Needs Pets
I understand that grooming may be stressful for aging or special needs pets and could cause underlying health issues to become active. I acknowledge that Dtails will take responsible care, but I agree not to hold Dtails responsible for reactions to grooming, including any injuries that may occur.
Senior Pets
Dtails prioritizes the safety and well-being of senior pets. I hereby grant permission for Dtails to seek immediate veterinary treatment for my pet if necessary. I understand that senior pets have a greater chance of injury during grooming and will not hold Dtails LLC responsible for any accidents or injuries

Ear Plucking
I recognize that Dtails will not be responsible for any ear infections that may develop due to moisture accumulation in the ear canal. Any veterinary expenses incurred from not having my pet's ears plucked will be my responsibility.
I understand that the only ear cleaning we can perform with hair present in the ear is minimal and restricted to the inside of the ear flap. Please inform your stylist at check-in if you would like this service performed.
Inclement Weather and Emergencies
In the event of inclement weather or a natural disaster, Dtails is trusted to use its best judgment in caring for my pet. I understand that Dtails will not be held liable for any consequences resulting from such decisions.
Permission to Obtain Veterinary Care
If my pet becomes ill or requires medical attention, I agree that Dtails may take my pet to the nearest veterinary center for immediate care. I grant permission for Dtails staff to make decisions on my behalf regarding my pet’s medical treatment.
I will be financially responsible for all expenses related to necessary treatment, including veterinary visits, medications, exams, and surgeries. Dtails will make reasonable efforts to contact me, but if they cannot reach me or need to administer aid immediately, they may proceed without prior notice. I understand that I may not be contacted until after my pet has been transported.
Dtails will not be held liable for any consequences resulting from decisions made during such emergencies.
Permission for Veterinary Care
I give permission to Dtails and its agents, staff, or assigns to care for my pet in my absence, including performing basic first aid and obtaining veterinary services.
Dtails has my permission to administer first aid to my pet and to transport my pet to and from the following veterinary hospitals as necessary:

I will be financially responsible for all fees incurred on my pet's behalf and will pay for all charges on the day of service.
I further authorize the attending veterinarian to discuss my pet's condition and aftercare with Dtails.
Media Release Form
**NOTICE OF FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY**
By entering Dtails or participating in events produced by Dtails, you enter an area where photography, audio recording, and video recording may occur. By entering the premises, you consent to interviews, photography, audio recording, video recording, and their release for news, promotional purposes, and advertising by Dtails and its affiliates.
You release Dtails, its officers, employees, and anyone involved from liability connected to the recording or publication of these materials.
By entering, you waive all rights to any claims for payment of royalties from the use of photographs and recordings regardless of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any materials taken by Dtails or its designated representatives.
You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
First Aid
In the event that my pet requires first aid, I authorize Dtails to administer first aid to the best of their ability. I hold Dtails harmless for any actions taken in this regard.
Bathing Requirements
All pets are required to be bathed as part of the grooming process. This is essential not only for your pet's benefit but also to protect the groomer's equipment. Each pet will be bathed with a basic shampoo.
For pets with allergies, skin issues, or sensitivities, we offer a medicated soak or oatmeal bath for an additional fee. Clients may also provide veterinarian-prescribed medicated shampoos if needed. All shampoos used at Dtails are of the highest quality and safe for both dogs and cats.
Owner Responsibility
The owner agrees to be solely responsible and liable for any behavior and actions of their pet. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, any injury or death to the pet, other pets, staff members, or any other individuals. Any medical treatment expenses incurred by a staff member, another pet, or a member of the public as a result of the pet's actions will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
Payment Policy
The owner agrees to pay the current grooming rate per visit for services rendered for each dog. You will be informed of grooming rates prior to any services being performed; however, some treatments, such as de-matting, may not be pre-quoted but could be necessary to complete the grooming process.
The owner agrees to be responsible for any fees related to returned checks due to insufficient funds, which will incur a $25 returned check fee. All fees are due at the time of service. If payment for any fees and charges is not made and it becomes necessary to pursue collection through civil action, the owner agrees to cover all related collection expenses and costs.
I, (the Client), authorize Dtails to charge my credit card for agreed-upon purchases. I understand that my information will be securely stored for future transactions related to my account, including charges for missed appointments, cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, and any applicable extra fees.
Weekday, Weekend & Holiday Appointments
Weekday appointments are offered at a lower rate compared to weekend appointments, and any appointments scheduled after 2 PM will incur additional charges. Additionally, during the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas, all grooming services will be $20 more than the regular price. Please note that these appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis and tend to book up quickly due to high demand. Thank you for your understanding!
Cancellation Policy, Rescheduling, & No Show Policy
Rescheduling Appointments: Please reschedule or cancel your appointment(s) at least 2 days prior to the scheduled date. Cancellations made two days in advance will incur a fee of $30-60. Cancellations made the day before the appointment will be charged the full price of the scheduled services.
No-Show Policy: Clients who do not show up for their appointments without prior notification via call, text, or email will be charged the full price for the missed services.
Late Arrivals: Clients arriving late will be charged $1 per minute. Those who arrive more than 10 minutes late will forfeit their appointment slot, which will be considered a no-show.
Vaccination Policy: Clients without updated mandatory vaccinations will forfeit their appointment and be charged for the missed appointment, as it will also be treated as a no-show.
Clients will not be able to schedule another appointment until all missed appointment fees, no-show fees, and late fees have been paid.
Multiple last-minute cancellations will necessitate a deposit for future bookings.
I understand that I will be charged for each missed appointment for every pet scheduled with Dtails.
We recognize that emergencies can arise, and we will strive to accommodate you; however, repeated issues may not be sustainable. Please be respectful of our time and staff, as we operate by appointment, and another client could have taken your slot if we were aware.
As a courtesy, we send confirmation emails and text messages several days before your scheduled appointments. Please note that these reminders are a courtesy; if you do not receive them, it is your responsibility to keep your appointment, and charges will apply if it is not honored or properly canceled.
